Jamie Mortara’s poem once inspired me to write my own list of things you should know before dating me. My version has been written, rewritten, and is in a constant state of rewriting. The latest version appeared on my Twitter account, pushed into the world in a moment of clarity. And even in that moment of clarity, I didn’t realize how misread the signs were.
Of course mine will always pale in comparison to that of Jamie Mortara. In either case, please enjoy today’s poem.
