Is it possible to distinguish the person from the poet? If so, I have Celina Gomez twice. In college, we were in the same student organization. Much later, I met Celina Gomez the poet. I wish my memory of both moments were better.
Celina Gomez is an amazing person. She’s an amazing poet. Her words are heavy with emotion, and her ability to weave words is nothing short of spectacular. She has participated in several poetry readings I have assembled at the library. Her has appeared in publications, anthologies, and chapbooks.
For the thirteenth poem, I have chosen her poem, “Process for Undocumented Students.”
