Chapin City Blues

Writing is writing whether done for duty, profit, or fun.

From “I Have Never Been Suicidal,” by Jared Singer

never wanted to kill myself.

I have always believed that life is a gift.
Sometimes it’s a gift you don’t want,

an itchy sweater you wish you could return.
I have never wanted to kill myself,

but I have wanted to die.
Prayed for it.
